Te Māori Manaaki Taonga Trust
Purpose/Function:
The Te Māori Manaaki Taonga Trust Board was established in 1994 to encourage and provide education and training of Māori in the skills required for the care and display of taonga Māori , and to promote the training of Māori as curators, conservators, and other officers whose jobs involve the care and/or display of taonga Māori.
Council Appointments:
The Board has a minimum of three members and a maximum of five.
Members may be appointed for the terms of office of one to five years, and may be reappointed.
Skills and Experience:
As well as the governance skills mentioned on the Governance front page, specific skills required for this Board include:
- management and financial skills
- museum or heritage knowledge
- knowledge and experience in taonga Māori
