Live Events
In December 2009 the chief executives of the Ministry for Culture and Heritage and the Eventfinder website, Lewis Holden and Michael Turner, announced a partnership between the Eventfinder and NZLive online events calendars.
This has resulted in the creation of the Live Events team who will be working on the partnership and providing content moderation and editorial services to Eventfinder.co.nz. This will combine the Ministry's content and editorial expertise with Eventfinder's world-class technology.
The partnership decision addresses the need for the Ministry to do more with less while serving its sector well. The Ministry is confident that this will be a cost effective way of publicising more of New Zealand's rich cultural content to more people. More activities (museums for instance), more non-commercial and more regional events and attractions will be on offer.
The partnership between NZLive and Eventfinder combines their respective 85,000 and 162,000 visitors per month under the Eventfinder.co.nz brand. The partnership also combines the Eventfinder and NZLive syndication networks, so events entered once on Eventfinder will appear online at The Herald, Stuff, Yahoo, AA Travel, Jasons as well as the MetService, Air New Zealand, Tourism New Zealand and many others.
The service will continue to be provided free to arts and cultural organisations.
